The tour will start between 8:30 and 9:00 AM with the pick up at your accommodation located in the downtown area of Santa Marta. If you are staying in the Rodadero and Taganga areas, you must notify us in advance since there may be an additional charge or you will be provided with a meeting point for the pick up.
We will leave for Minca in the company of a local guide, who will tell us about the history and tourist growth of the place along the way. The road to Minca is known for its beautiful scenery and panoramic views of the Caribbean coast, so you`ll be amazed from the very beginning of your journey.
After a 45-minute drive, we`ll arrive in Minca. Our first stop will be a coffee farm, where you`ll have the opportunity to learn about the production process of this iconic product. From planting to harvesting, you will learn every step and discover the secrets of creating mountain coffee. In addition, you will be able to taste coffee samples, enjoying their unique aromas and flavors.
Continuing with the tour, we will embark on a 30-minute walk through the interior of the mountain in search of the crystalline waters of the Sierra Nevada. During the tour, the guide will show you the rich diversity of birds that inhabit the area. The Sierra Nevada de Santa Marta is known for being a bird watcher`s paradise, and you will undoubtedly have the opportunity to spot some colorful species such as the Emerald Toucanet, the Orange-fronted Parakeet or the Red-billed Woodpecker. Upon reaching the natural water holes, we will take a break and enjoy a refreshing swim. It will be a revitalizing experience in the midst of the lush vegetation of the Sierra Nevada.
Around 12:30 pmwe will continue the tour to a bamboo house, there we will be welcomed by the hosts with a delicious gourmet lunch prepared with typical products of the region.
After delighting the palate, we will explore the bamboo house and receive a talk about the importance of this versatile and resistant material. It will be an opportunity to appreciate the beauty of sustainable architectureand learn about the tradition and ingenuity of the local community.
To complete this adventure, we will enjoy the aromas and flavors of cacao and artisanal chocolate in a brief but fascinating exhibition that highlights the richness of cacao in this region.
After a day full of exploration and discovery in Minca, we will return to Santa Marta, arriving at your accommodation at approximately 4:30 PM.
