The activity begins with the pick up at your place of accommodation in Cartagena, the tour can start between 09 AM and 02 PM, you choose the time that is most comfortable for you.
We will start with one one of the most emblematic historical sites in Cartagena and a must-see for travelers, The Convent of La Popa, founded in 1607 by Father Agustino Fray Alonso de la Cruz Paredes on the top of Cerro de La Popa, a hill that rises to more than 150 meters above sea level and offers an impressive panoramic view of the city.
Once in the convent, we will take a guided tour of the facilities, including the church and the cloister. we will immerse ourselves in the Spanish colonial architecture and fantastic ancient stories that are housed there.
Before leaving for our next destination, you will have time to enjoy the view from the top, take photos and contemplate the beautiful landscape of the bay.
We will continue our way to Fort San Felipe de Barajas, an imposing stone fortress built in the 17th century by the Spanish to defend the city from attacks by pirates and corsairs.
We will visit the entire fortress including its complex system of tunnels, ramps and corridors. Your guide will tell us some of the stories about the battles and sieges the fort witnessed.
We will move towards the historic center of the city, where we will visit the Blas de Lezo Monument, a sculpture that pays homage to the Spanish admiral Blas de Lezo, who defended the city from a British attack in 1741 and today is a symbol of Colombia`s naval history.
In the historic center we will also tour the most beautiful streets, churches and squares of the city, until we reach the Plaza de los Coches to find the monument of Don Pedro de Heredia, the founder of Cartagena de Indias (1533 ). The guide will tell us the history of the foundation of Cartagena and will share interesting stories full of legends and pirates.
We will close our tour of the heroic in the Plaza de los Coches, a lively place surrounded by restaurants and shops where all the cultures of the city converge.
Finally, after four hours of adventures, the guide will take you back to your place of accommodation where we will end the tour.
