To get to Valdivia from Santiago, tourists can take a direct flight of approximately 1 hour and 40 minutes to Pichoy Airport, which is about 32 kilometers from the city. From the airport, a taxi or shuttle can be taken which takes around 30 minutes to reach the center of Valdivia. Alternatively, there are intercity bus options which take approximately 10 hours and offer a scenic tour of the southern Chilean route.
