- Day 1 – Arrival in Santa Marta and Sunset Sailing Trip
Your experience in Santa Marta will begin with a private transfer from Simón Bolívar International Airport to your hotel, where you will have your first taste of Caribbean hospitality.
After settling in and resting a bit, In the afternoon, you`ll embark on one of the city`s most popular activities: a sailing trip around Santa Marta Bay. Departure is approximately at 4:00 p.m. from the International Marina, a modern and safe spot in front of the historic center.
During the sailing, you`ll have the opportunity to see how the city lights up as the sun sets, with the contrast of the Sierra Nevada mountains in the background and the tranquility of the Caribbean Sea in front. The sailboat skirts the bay and heads towards Taganga, offering unique views for taking photographs and enjoying a refreshing drink on board. You will return at nightfall, with the sea breeze as a preview of everything you will experience in the coming days.
- Day 2 – Excursion to Tayrona Park: Playa Cristal
After breakfast, between 7:00 a.m. and 8:00 a.m., a shuttle will pick you up at your hotel to begin the excursion to Tayrona National Natural Park, one of Colombia`s most iconic destinations. Along the way, you`ll stop at the Seven Waves viewpoint, from where you can see the Caribbean Sea at its finest. The route continues to Neguanje, where you`ll board a boat to Playa Cristal, known for its crystal-clear waters and tranquil atmosphere. You will have several hours to enjoy at your own pace: swimming, snorkeling and discovering the marine wealth of the coral reef or simply relaxing under the palm trees facing the sea.
At noon you can have lunch in local beach restaurants (lunch not included), trying fresh fish and typical preparations of the region. The return is scheduled for the afternoon, arriving back at your hotel around 5:00 p.m., with time to rest and review the landscapes of Tayrona in your memory.
- Day 3 – City Tour of Santa Marta
The morning will be free for you to enjoy the beach or the facilities of your hotel. In the afternoon, around 2:00 p.m., you will begin a tour of the most iconic sites in Santa Marta, the oldest city in Colombia. The first stop will be at Quinta de San Pedro Alejandrino, the hacienda where the Liberator Simón Bolívar spent his final days. There, you will learn more about the history and heritage of this place. Then you will visit the Minor Basilica Cathedral, considered the first built in South America, and the Tayrona Gold Museum, which exhibits unique pieces from the indigenous cultures of the Sierra Nevada.
The tour continues through the historic center, with its colonial streets and lively squares, before visiting the monument to Carlos “El Pibe” Valderrama, an icon of Colombian soccer. To close, you will ascend to the Taganga viewpoint, a fishing village that offers a panoramic view of the bay perfect for ending the afternoon. Return to the hotel will be at approximately 6:00 p.m.
- Day 4 – Departure from Santa Marta
The last day of your trip begins with breakfast at the hotel and some free time to walk around the city or shop for local crafts. Depending on your flight time, a private transfer will take you from your hotel to the airport, marking the end of this immersion in Santa Marta, a city that combines history, culture, nature, and the sea in a single destination.
