Starting at 7 AM, one of our vehicles will pick you up at your hotel in Santa Marta to begin the adventure. We will leave the city passing through the center to take the Troncal del Caribe highway for 45 minutes to the main entrance of Tayrona Park (El Zaino).
Upon arriving at the national park, we will get off the vehicle, check in each traveler, and purchase entrance tickets. At this point, the guide will provide a brief orientation on the park`s conservation and safety regulations.
We will enter Tayrona Park on foot, beginning our ecological walk. The trail is well marked and will take you through lush tropical forests and stunning landscapes. You will enjoy the atmosphere and take the best photographs along the way.
The hike lasts approximately 2 hours, depending on the pace and the stops we make along the way. We will cross winding paths that will immerse us in dense tropical forests; we will enjoy the refreshing shade and appreciate a great variety of flora and fauna that inhabit the park. You will see imposing ceibas, palms and ferns, and a great variety of orchids, considered "the national flower." We will also pass by small streams and cross improvised bridges that will add a touch of adventure to the experience. It is recommended that you always follow the guide`s instructions and do not leave the indicated trails.
As we approach Cabo San Juan, we will hear the sound of waves breaking on the coast, which will increase the excitement. The last part of the trail descends to the main beach of Cabo San Juan, where you will be greeted by the impressive view of the beach and the Caribbean Sea. It will be a rewarding moment after the long hike.
Once in Cabo San Juan you will have time to rest and enjoy the beautiful surroundings. You can swim in the crystal-clear waters or simply relax on the sand.
In Cabo San Juan you will find restaurant options that offer local dishes and fresh seafood. The guide will give you the necessary recommendations so you can enjoy a delicious lunch overlooking the Caribbean Sea (lunch not included in the activity).
You will have the option to explore the surroundings of Cabo San Juan. Take a short hike to the cape`s viewpoint and get a panoramic view of the surrounding landscape or enjoy a dip in the nearby natural pools.
We will be in Cabo San Juan from the middle and around 3:30 PM we will start the hike back to the park entrance. We will take the opportunity to appreciate the beauty of nature again and capture the last images of the landscape.
We will leave the park and return to Santa Marta, ending the adventure with the drop off at your accommodation.
