The experience begins at the Santa Marta International Marina, where you will board an authentic pirate ship to begin a journey full of history, adventure and spectacular views. As you set sail, the Caribbean Sea will be the setting for reliving stories of pirate attacks, defensive fortifications and the origins of Colombia`s oldest city.
During the tour, you`ll approach the imposing statue of Rodrigo de Bastidas, founder of Santa Marta, and continue sailing towards Punta Betín, a strategic area in the historical defense of the bay. From there you`ll have a privileged view of El Morro, a rock formation that served as a lookout point, and Fort San Fernando, where the echo of colonial cannon shots still resonates.
As the boat travels through these waters steeped in history, you`ll be part of the crew. You`ll receive a pirate kit and, if the captain allows it, you can take the helm from the sterncastle. It will be an hour of sailing between swords, stories, and unique landscapes, with the Sierra Nevada in the background and the living history of the Samarian Caribbean around you. The voyage concludes back at the marina, with the fresh memory of having sailed like a true pirate.
