The experience will begin in one of the most authentic corners of Bogotá: the traditional La Perseverancia Market, located in the La Macarena neighborhood. There, you will be greeted by the local host, who will give you a brief introduction to the history of the market and the importance of its role in daily life in Bogotá.
As we walk through the market`s aisles, we will discover fresh ingredients, exotic fruits, spices, and typical pastries from the country. Between conversations with merchants and strategic stops to learn about local products, a space will open up to better understand the richness and diversity of Colombian gastronomy. It will be a sensory journey full of color, aroma, and flavor, ideal for whetting your appetite and inspiring culinary creativity.
A few blocks from the market, we will head to a fully equipped private kitchen, where the cooking class will begin. Guided by our host chef, we will learn to prepare three traditional Colombian dishes, according to the group`s preferences and the available options. The menu may include everything from empanadas, patacones, and arepas to more elaborate dishes such as ajiaco, rice with seafood, sudados, or even bandeja paisa. There will also be vegetarian versions for those who require them.
During the class, in addition to cooking, we will share interesting facts, preparation techniques, stories of the origin of each recipe, and tips on how to replicate them at home. It will be an intimate, relaxed, and very tasty space, where the kitchen becomes a bridge to learn about Colombian culture.
At the end, we will enjoy what we prepared together, celebrating the power of flavors. After four hours of experience, you will take away much more than a recipe: a living memory of Colombia told from its kitchen.
