The tour begins when our local guide picks you up at the hotel, this activity is done completely on foot, so the hotel pick-up will be on foot and only applies to travelers staying in the downtown area of the city. If you are staying in another area, you can choose to pick up at the meeting point: Torre del Reloj. Our activity can start between 09:00 AM and 02:00 PM, you choose the time that is most comfortable for you.
We will head towards Getsemani, one of the most vibrant and popular neighborhoods in Cartagena. The area is rich in graffiti, paintings and murals that reflect the creativity and cultural diversity of the local community. We will visit Calle del Arsenal, one of the main streets in the area where the work of the collective of urban artists "Crew Peligrosos" is concentrated. One of the most outstanding murals on this street is the "Peace Mural", which celebrates the peace process in Colombia and the importance of reconciliation and peaceful coexistence.
We will move towards Plaza de la Trinidad, an iconic square in the heart of the neighborhood. There we will visit the "Red Shoes Mural", which was created by the Spanish artist Mónica Martínez and represents the history of slavery in the region.
On the half of Media Luna Another popular spot in Getsemaní is the "Mural of Freedom", which was created by local artist David Chávez. This mural represents the struggle for freedom and social justice, and features images of famous and anonymous revolutionary leaders who are transcendental in the libertarian history of Colombia.
We will continue our walk towards the walled city, where near the Puerta del Clock, we will find the "Mural of Reconciliation", which was created by the artist from Cartagena Carlos Trilleras.
In Calle de la Sierpe, another emblematic street of the walled city, is the "Mural of Memory", which was created by the Cartagena artist Freddy Rodríguez. This mural represents the history of the region and its fight for freedom.
With images of palenqueras, local flora and fauna, we will return to the starting point, passing through the Parque de las Flores, where you will be able to see more urban art and enjoy a panoramic view of the city.
After a two-hour tour, we end the tour at the Clock Tower or the Parque de las Flores.
