- Day 3 – Excursion to Guatavita and Zipaquirá: the legend of Dorado
You will embark on a group tour to discover two historical and natural gems of Colombia: the Guatavita Lagoon and the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral.
The first stop will be at Guatavita, a páramo landscape within the Chingaza Natural Park. There you will walk along ancient paths and learn about the legend of El Dorado, the Muisca myth that inspired explorers and conquerors for centuries.
The journey continues to Zipaquirá, where you will enter the majestic Salt Cathedral, a subterranean cathedral hand-carved in the heart of a mine. Considered one of Colombia`s architectural wonders, it combines art, spirituality, and mining history.
You will have free time for lunch and to explore the colonial town before returning to Bogotá.
- Day 4 – Free day in Bogotá
Enjoy this day your way. You can visit the Gold Museum, considered one of the most important in Latin America; Explore the Botero Museum, featuring works by the country`s most iconic artist; or simply relax in one of the cafes in Usaquén.
If you prefer a local touch, we recommend visiting the Paloquemao Market, where you can try exotic fruits and experience the colorful atmosphere of Bogota.
- Day 5 – Heading to the Coffee Region (Armenia/Salento)
Private transfer to El Dorado Airport to catch your flight to Armenia. Upon arrival, a driver will meet you and take you comfortably to your hotel in Salento, one of the most charming towns in the Coffee Region.
Take advantage of the afternoon to stroll along Calle Real, admire its colorful balconies, try a cup of artisanal coffee, or visit the Alto de la Cruz viewpoint, from where you can appreciate the valley that awaits you the next day.
During the trail, you will learn about the ecological and cultural importance of this species, a national emblem of Colombia, and enjoy an ideal environment for photography and nature lovers.
At the end, you will enjoy a typical lunch at the base of the valley before returning to Salento in Willys Jeeps.
- Day 7 – Traditional Coffee Tour
Nothing is more authentic than getting to know the heart of coffee country from its farms. On this day, you`ll travel again in a Jeep Willys to a traditional coffee farm, where you`ll learn all about the Colombian coffee process, from planting to cup. Guided by local coffee farmers, you`ll participate in the different stages of cultivation, learn the secrets of roasting, and enjoy a tasting of freshly brewed coffee. A sensory and cultural experience that will connect you with the essence of Colombia and the rural life of Quindío. Day 8 – Return
After breakfast overlooking the coffee-growing mountains, a private transfer will take you from your hotel to El Edén International Airport.
