The day begins with pickup from your accommodation in downtown Cartagena at 7:00 am. From there, we will depart by land to Barú Island.
Upon arrival at approximately 8:30 am, you will receive all the necessary equipment for the kayak trip, along with a brief introduction to paddling techniques and safety precautions from expert guides. At 9:00 am, the adventure through the crystal-clear waters of the Caribbean Sea begins. Throughout the journey, you will witness the striking contrast between the tropical dry forest that borders the island and the white sand beaches that stretch as far as the eye can see. From the kayak, you will enjoy panoramic views of the Rosario Islands, a paradise that enriches the experience of each paddle.
At 11:00 am, you will arrive at the southern tip of Barú, a hidden corner where the exuberant mangroves create an ecosystem full of life. Here you can explore the natural tunnels while learning about the importance of this habitat and the relationship that the Barulero people have had with the mangroves throughout their history.
At the end of this morning trip, you will enjoy a typical lunch at 12:30 pm, where the local flavors will connect you even more with the essence of Barú. Afterwards, you will have free time to relax, either by swimming in the warm waters or exploring more of the island.
