Our photographic adventure will begin at the meeting point provided in the afternoon, at 4:30 pm. We recommend arriving 10 minutes early to meet the group, receive the selfie stick and configure it with your cell phone.
From the historic heart of Cartagena, we will depart towards the Getsemaní neighborhood. Our art and selfie expert guide will give you an introduction to the history and artistic context of Getsemaní. As you advance through the interior of the neighborhood, you will get to know the most significant murals and graffiti that adorn the streets. You`ll notice how each work of art is a unique expression that enriches the urban landscape and highlights the importance of art as a tool for reflection. You`ll be able to come across representations of historical figures, symbols of Afro-Caribbean culture, as well as artistic expressions that address issues of gender equality, social justice, and environmental protection.
Each step through the neighborhood will be an opportunity to put your photography and modeling skills into practice; you`ll be able to capture the best selfies while posing next to the most iconic murals. Our guide will give you tips on how to get the best shots and capture the artistic essence of each piece.
As you walk through the neighborhood, you will immerse yourself in the local culture and traditions. The guide will tell you about the African and indigenous heritage that has shaped the neighborhood`s identity. We will pass by Trinity Square and the Church of the Holy Trinity, located in the heart of Getsemaní and landmarks within the city.
After a two-hour walk full of photos, laughter, and lots and lots of selfies, we will visit a local bar to taste unique Colombian beers while We continue to enjoy the lively atmosphere of Getsemaní.
To close, we will head to one of the liveliest GastroBars in the area, Calle Adentro, where we will receive a welcome cocktail and prepare to close out our day with an exciting Champeta class. The contagious Caribbean rhythm will charge you with vitality with quick movements of the hips, feet, and arms that reflect the local passion and energy. You will undoubtedly enjoy this lively celebration of Afro-Caribbean identity, which has become a form of cultural resistance and an invitation for everyone to join in and experience the magic of music and dance on the streets of Colombia.
The services end with the champeta class. You can stay at the bar on your own or return to your accommodation.
