Estimated Itinerary:
< div style="text-align: justify;">* 8:00 am - Meeting at the designated starting point in Cartagena (remember, only hotels in the central area).
* 8:30 am - Transfer to San Basilio de Palenque: We will leave for San Basilio de Palenque in our private transportation. During the approximately 1-hour journey, our guide will share information about the history and cultural importance of Palenque.
* 9:30 am - Arrival in San Basilio de Palenque: Upon arriving at the town of San Basilio de Palenque we will meet our local tour guide. We`ll begin the tour by exploring the city`s cultural center, where we`ll learn about the community`s fascinating history and unique traditions.
< div style="text-align: justify;">* 10:30 am - Visit to Emblematic Places: We will take a tour of the emblematic places and historical sites of the town, including the Benkos Biohó Square, dedicated to the Palenquero leader who fought for the freedom of his people.
* 11:00 am - Cultural Immersion: We will enjoy a cultural immersion as we interact with local inhabitants and learn about the traditional music, dance, and cuisine of Palenque. We will discover the influence of African culture on the development of popular music in Colombia and beyond.
* 1:00 pm - Typical Lunch: We will delight in a typical lunch at a local restaurant, where we will try authentic dishes from Palenque cuisine, fusing African, indigenous and Spanish flavors.
* 2 :00 pm - Optional African Drum Show: If time permits, we will optionally have the opportunity to witness an exciting African drum show, a unique experience that will immerse us even further in the rich cultural heritage from Palenque.
* 3:00 pm - ; Return to Cartagena: After an unforgettable experience in San Basilio de Palenque, we will return to Cartagena in our transportation.
