Details of Day Tours

This 8-hour tour will take you to two notable sites near Bogotá: the Sacred Lagoon of Guatavita, in the municipality of Sesquilé, and the Crazy House, a tourist attraction based on optical illusions.

We will leave Bogotá in the morning for Guatavita Lagoon, located approximately 70 kilometers northeast of the city. The journey takes about 1 hour and 30 minutes and crosses part of the Cundiboyacense savannah and mountainous areas. The lagoon is located within a nature reserve at 3,100 meters above sea level.

Once in the park, you will receive instructions on the walking route. Accompanied by a guide, we will follow the ecological trails that lead to the lagoon`s main viewpoint. Along the way, you`ll learn about the history and cultural significance of this sacred site for the indigenous Muisca people, where religious ceremonies and gold offerings were held, giving rise to the legend of El Dorado. From the top, you`ll have a panoramic view of the lagoon, surrounded by native vegetation and high-mountain ecosystems.

After visiting the park, you`ll have free time for lunch at local restaurants in Sesquilé or Guatavita. Your guide will be available to recommend options based on your preferences.

After lunch, we`ll continue to the second stop of the tour: the Casa Loca, a tourist attraction located on the outskirts of the municipality of Guatavita. This building, designed with a deliberate tilt, uses visual effects and principles of perception to create feelings of disorientation. During the guided tour, you will be able to walk through its spaces, take photographs, and experience the optical illusions it offers.

At the end of the tour, we will begin our return trip to Bogotá, estimating our arrival in the city around 4:00 p.m.
