The tour will begin with a warm welcome at our meeting point in Getsemaní, where you`ll meet your guide and local chef. From there, you`ll head to the vibrant Bazurto Market, the soul of Cartagena`s gastronomy. As you stroll through its colorful and bustling aisles, you`ll discover an astonishing array of local and exotic ingredients.
Your guide will introduce you to the vendors, who will share the stories behind their products with you. You`ll taste fresh fruits such as guanabana, lulo, and mamey, as well as try typical snacks, from stuffed arepas to fried empanadas. In addition, you`ll learn how to select the best ingredients and perfect the art of haggling like a true Cartagena native, enjoying the famous "ñapa", that little extra that the vendors always offer.
After the tour, you`ll return to the cooking studio, where the cooking demonstration will begin. Under the chef`s expert guidance, you will learn key Colombian cooking techniques and be guided step-by-step through the preparation of traditional dishes.
Together with the other participants, you will cook as a team, following the chef`s instructions and receiving personalized advice. The experience will be relaxed and collaborative, allowing you to learn and experiment while creating your own versions of the dishes.
Finally, everyone will sit down together to enjoy the food they have prepared. It will be a time of sharing and discovery, where conversations about the flavors, textures, and culinary secrets will be intertwined with anecdotes and learning about Cartagena`s rich gastronomic history.
