We`ll immerse ourselves in the diversity and beauty of Chile on this fascinating 13-day adventure that will take us from the cosmopolitan capital of Santiago to the breathtaking landscapes of the Atacama Desert, Puerto Varas, and Punta Arenas!
Day 1: Welcome to Santiago, Chile
This exciting journey begins with our arrival at Santiago International Airport. We will approach the counter indicated to us, and with the reservation, we will be assigned a vehicle. A professional driver will take us in a comfortable transfer to your hotel. After settling in, we will have free time to relax and explore the charms of the city.
Day 2: Discovering Santiago and Viña del Mar
Concha y Toro
After a delicious breakfast at the hotel, we will begin the day with an exciting City Tour of Santiago. We will visit the city`s most emblematic sites, including Santa Lucía Hill, La Moneda Palace, and Plaza de Armas. In the afternoon, we`ll head to the Concha y Toro vineyard, where we`ll learn about the fascinating history of Chilean wine and taste some of the region`s finest wines.
Day 3: Exploring Valparaíso and Viña del Mar
Today we`ll venture to the coast to visit Valparaíso and Viña del Mar. We`ll explore the colorful hills and rich history of Valparaíso, a UNESCO World Heritage Site. Next, we`ll head to Viña del Mar, known as the Garden City, where we`ll enjoy beautiful beaches and elegant architecture.
Day 4: Heading to the Atacama Desert
After breakfast, we`ll head to the airport to catch a flight to the stunning Atacama Desert. Once in San Pedro de Atacama, we will go to the designated counter to transfer to our hotel. We will then have free time to acclimatize and explore this fascinating desert region.
Day 5: Adventures in the Atacama Salt Flat, Piedras Rojas, and the Altiplano Lagoons
We will depart early to make the most of the day.
We will visit the impressive Salar del Talar, where we will enjoy breakfast while admiring the Piedras Rojas viewpoint and exploring the Miñique and Miscanti lagoons. We will also visit the picturesque village of Socaire and the Laguna Chaxa National Reserve, ending in the charming village of Toconao.
Day 6: Adventure in the Valley of the Moon and Death Valley
After breakfast, you will have the morning free to relax or explore San Pedro de Atacama. In the afternoon, we will head to the Valley of the Moon, part of the Los Flamencos Nature Reserve. There,
we will visit the fascinating salt statues and salt caves, then ascend
a large dune to witness an unforgettable sunset.
Day 7: Trip to Puerto Varas
After breakfast, we will say goodbye to the Atacama Desert and fly to Puerto Montt. From there, we will transfer to Puerto Varas, a charming city located on the shores of Lake Llanquihue and surrounded by volcanoes. We`ll enjoy a free afternoon to explore the city and relax by the lake.
Day 8: Discovering Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas
Today we`ll explore the picturesque cities of Puerto Montt and Puerto Varas on a comprehensive city tour. We`ll discover the local culture, traditional architecture, and breathtaking panoramic views of the volcanoes and the lake. In the afternoon, we will have free time to enjoy the optional activities offered by the region.
Day 9: Excursion to Frutillar
We will head towards the charming town of Frutillar, famous for its German architecture and its beautiful location next to Lake Llanquihue. We will visit the Lake Theater and the German Colonial Museum, and
you will have free time to explore the charming historic center and enjoy
the panoramic views of the lake and volcanoes.
Day 10: Trip to Punta Arenas
After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport
to catch a flight to the southern city of Punta Arenas. Once there,
you will be met by your driver and transferred to your hotel. We will have the afternoon free to explore the city and relax after the trip.
Day 11: Tour of Punta Arenas and Fort Bulnes
Departing from our hotel, we will explore Plaza Muñoz Gamero and its Monument to Ferdinand Magellan. We will visit the majestic Cathedral Church and other neo-Gothic buildings that tell the story of the region`s livestock history. We will have the option to explore fascinating museums such as the Salesian Museum Maggiorino Bergatello or the Nao Victoria (entrance fees not included). We will enjoy panoramic views from Cerro de la Cruz and explore monuments in the northern part of the city.
Day 12: Excursion to Magdalena Island
On this day, we will embark on an exciting excursion to Magdalena Island, home to one of the largest penguin colonies in Chile. We will enjoy a boat trip through the Strait of Magellan and have the opportunity to observe these adorable animals up close in their natural habitat. (Excursion operates between October and March
approximately.)
Day 13: Farewell to Punta Arenas
After breakfast, we will transfer to the airport
for our flight back home.
