We will meet today
at 7:00 AM during the Summer High Season or at 8:00 AM during the Winter Low Season at the starting point in Puerto Natales (Eberhard 560), or at 7:30 or 8:30 at the Puerto Bories Pier to begin this
experience that you will not easily forget.
Puerto Bories is located 4 km from Puerto Natales, about a 20-minute drive. This is where you`ll find the Frigorífico Bories, which has been a National Historical Museum since 1996. It was the most important meatpacking plant in the area for over 60 years. The museum houses all the history and machinery used since the sheep farming boom in Patagonia.
From this location, at 8:00 AM/9:00 AM, we will set sail on the catamaran toward Mount Balmaceda, sailing the Última Esperanza Fjord, accompanied by panoramic views of the mountains, forests, and crystal-clear waters of the fjord. It is also possible to spot seabirds, sea lions, and other animals.
Our first stop will be at approximately 11:00 a.m. High/12:00 p.m. Low at Balmaceda Glacier. Here we can observe from the boat the impressive front of the glacier, which often displays
spectacular ice falls into the sea.
If we`re lucky, we`ll be able to see the majesty of the Glacier and the sounds of the ice calving, which create a unique experience.
After this visit to the Balmaceda Glacier, we`ll sail to the Serrano River, where we`ll disembark at approximately 11:30 a.m. (High)/12:30 p.m. (Low) to continue by land, with a short, gentle hike through the Patagonian forest, characteristic of the region.
We`ll get some of the best views of this only glacier that touches the waters of the lagoon of the same name. Serrano Glacier.
After enjoying this natural setting and various views of the Glacier, we will return to the boat to begin our return journey. But not before stopping at a beautiful place located 51 km from Puerto Natales, accessible only by sea: Estancia Perales, where we will enjoy a typical Magellanic lunch at approximately 2:00 PM.
High/1:30 PM. It is often a Roasted Lamb, although it could be served with other typical Patagonian dishes, accompanied by various fresh local side dishes.
The Balmaceda and Serrano Glaciers Navigation is a unique experience for those who want to explore the natural beauty and wildlife of the Magallanes region.
A great opportunity to see the imposing Glaciers up close, hear the sounds of ice, and connect with the southernmost and most unexplored nature in the world.
We will return to Puerto Natales at approximately 5:00 PM (high/6:00 PM low) on the same boat, full of new memories and tons of photos to download.
Don`t miss this experience!
