The adventure begins early, at 06:30 a.m. at the Arturo Prat Pier in Puerto Natales, where the presentation takes place to start the day. If you require transportation to the pier, this service can be requested for an additional cost.
From there we set sail towards the majestic Última Esperanza Fjord, entering a unique landscape that leads us to Bernardo O`Higgins National Park, the largest protected area in Chile and one of the four largest in the world, with more than 4,300,000 hectares that protect part of the glaciers of the Southern Ice Field, the largest mass of ice in America.
During the six-hour navigation, the route surprises at every moment: the vestiges of the historic Bories Refrigerator, picturesque Patagonian estancias, waterfalls that descend from the mountains, and the local fauna that includes imperial cormorants and a small colony of sea lions. All framed by the imposing glaciers that crown this fjord.
The journey takes us to disembark in front of the Serrano Glacier, where we will walk a designated trail to the closest viewpoint to this impressive wall of ice. There, we will enjoy an hour and a half surrounded by untamed nature before returning to the boat. Back on board, a whiskey with ancient ice awaits us, a unique toast to close the experience before contemplating the Balmaceda Glacier from our exterior decks.
An unmissable voyage that brings together history, wildlife, and the grandeur of Patagonia`s glaciers.
