We`ll experience Patagonia at its finest with this 4-day Essential Paine Adventure from Puerto Natales to Torres del Paine! We will enjoy exciting hikes and discover the natural beauty of this unique region.
Day 1. Puerto Natales - Hostal Factoría
Day 2. Full Day Panoramic Torres del Paine
We will depart from your accommodation in Puerto Natales and head to Villa Cerro Castillo, 59 kilometers away. Northbound. The journey to this point takes approximately 45 minutes, a perfect time to explore and explore the diverse landscapes, including abundant Magellanic forests, glacial valleys, mountain ranges, and lakes along the route. Weather permitting, we may be able to spot condors in one of the many nesting areas along the route. The itinerary continues towards the Sarmiento Lake viewpoint, the first photo break with a view of the Paine Mountain Range. From here, with good weather conditions, it will be possible to have a first panoramic view of the entire Torres del Paine mountain range, the southern extension of the Andes Mountains and the imposing Sarmiento Lake.
After this break, we will head towards a very important site with one of the most impressive views in front of the granite towers. The place described above corresponds to the Laguna Amarga viewpoint, a favorite habitat of flamingos who frequently find ideal feeding conditions here. The route continues to the main entrance to Torres del Paine National Park, where we will register our access tickets to continue our itinerary. The next viewpoints to visit are Nordenskjöld Lake, Salto Grande Viewpoint, Pehoé Viewpoint, Weber Bridge, Paine River, and Grey Lake. At this last point, we will have time for lunch (service not included in the rate) and to walk around the area, weather permitting. We will return to the vehicle to continue our tour, leaving Torres del Paine National Park along the southern section. Our last stop near Torres del Paine will be at the most impressive spot on Route Y-290, called Grey Viewpoint. From here you will be able to see the group of mountains that dominate the western part of the province, the immense Toro Lake and, weather permitting, also a section of the Grey Glacier.
Day 3. Full Day Base Torres
One of the must-do activities in Patagonia. A path between forests, rivers, bushes and rocks to achieve one of the most sought-after views on a demanding hike of approximately 9 hours, covering a total of 24 km. Our trip will begin at 6:30 a.m. in the summer months (7:00 a.m. in the winter) from Puerto Natales. We will travel by vehicle to the northern sector of the park, arriving at the access point called Laguna Amarga. At this site, we will register with our entrance tickets and then continue to the activity`s starting point, located in the Cerro Paine Reserve. At this point, we will prepare our equipment and receive advance instructions from the guide in charge of the group. Our guide will explain the proper use of trekking poles and how to install crampons and gaiters, if necessary. These last items are considered for winter use in case of snow and ice along the route. The first hour and 30 minutes will be a constant climb, with some areas of lesser inclination and low vegetation to reach the "Paso de los Vientos", from here we will begin a descent of approximately 30 minutes towards the Chilean Refuge for a short break. The route continues for 1 hour through lenga forests parallel to the Ascencio River, a river that we will cross at various points and that will accompany us for much of the route. The last section has a slope of 300 meters and challenging terrain with rocks and some forest in the first 25 minutes. The final section is an exposed trail without vegetation, on looser terrain and with a view towards the final section of the valley, quickly gaining altitude. Once we have accomplished our objective, in front of the imposing towers, we will take the necessary time to eat, take photographs and contemplate. The descent and return to the vehicle is along the same path.
Day 4. Puerto Natales
Enjoy a delicious breakfast at Hostal Factoría. Depending on your flight schedule, you can tour the city and do some shopping.
