The route begins at the entrance bridge to La Cumbrecita, a picturesque mountain village with pedestrian streets and alpine charm. After crossing the Historic Center, the trail begins a steady climb to the summit of Cerro Wank, 1,620 meters above sea level.
The path, with a 260-meter gradient, allows for increasingly expansive views of the Cordoba mountains. Upon reaching the summit, the route continues north, entering the vast and silent Pampa de Achala. The surroundings, dominated by highland pastures and crystal-clear waterways, convey a sense of isolation and serenity.
The hike continues until reaching the Balcón del Yatán, a privileged vantage point from which you can contemplate the full extent of the Yatán River gorge and its main waterfalls. The immensity of the landscape invites you to stop, explore the area, and enjoy an al fresco lunch.
After the break, you return along the same path, allowing you to rediscover the landscape from another perspective and conclude the experience with one last look at the beauty of the mountains.
