Highlights of Moon Valley
If you find yourself touring Argentina, you cannot miss the visit to the Ischigualasto Park "Valle De La Luna", a unique destination and outside the conventional itineraries, which surprises with its formations and unusual soil characteristics.
The astonishment for the place and the richness that it contains for the study of the archaeological and paleontological sites of the area caused that in the year 2000 UNESCO declared World Heritage Site the area composed of the Talampaya National Park and Ischigualasto Provincial Park, calling them Ischigualasto / Talampaya Natural Parks.
The Provincial Park of Ischigualasto is unique in the world for its continental sediments of the Triassic: rocks of ash, white, gray and shades of red and vermilion that house fossils of reptiles and dinosaurs. It has an area of 2916 hectares and is located north of the province of San Juan.
Its geoforms of curious forms (The Submarine, The Mushroom, the Bocce Court) and the remains of the oldest dinosaur are some of the attractions of this site, which is also known as "Valle de la Luna", thanks to its resemblance to the satellite surface
