You will take the train, and start a little more than 3 hours’ journey to Aguas Calientes train station. At this point, we will board the bus until the wonderful Citadel of Machu Picchu.

Machu Picchu means “Old Mountain”, and is located 80 miles on the northeast of the city of Cusco, in the Peruvian Andes Mountain Range, surrounded by the River Vilcanota. The citadel was built by the Inca Pachacutec between 1400 and 1500 A.D., being the exclusive housing of Inca aristocracy. Machu Picchu is located in a subtropical area with different microclimates, and has an altitude of 2430 M.A.S.L.

The guided tour along 2 hours, will let you explore this awesome archeological site, also known as The Lost City of the Incas. This place has an important local flora and fauna, surrounded by different types of orchids, and tree forests. Also, in this area lives insects, mammals, and birds as the “Gallito de las Rocas”, declared the Peruvian national bird.

Enjoy your free time in Machu Picchu, take pictures or if you are brave you can climb Huayna Picchu (optional), and admire the entire citadel around. Also, you have the option to back to Aguas Calientes and have lunch (optional).

Declared a World Heritage Site, Machu Picchu has incredible landscapes, and it was the main place of Inca’s farming, and the most important urban place from Incan Empire. Connected by different roads, known as Inca Trails, as the best way to promote trade throughout the Inca Empire territory. This place was the main residence of Inca Pachacutec and his family.

At the arrange time, you should arrive at the Aguas Calientes train station to back to Cusco City, arriving to Poroy train station first and take a private transport to the hotel.
