We will start the day with the pick-up at your lodging place in Cali and we will depart towards the historic Hacienda El Paraíso, an icon of colonial heritage and the main setting of the famous novel "María" by Jorge Isaacs, one of the greatest Colombian novelists and explorers. Upon arriving at El Paraíso, your guide will take you through this national monument, where you will discover the impressive architecture of the hacienda, its extensive gardens adorned with mature willows and flowering rose bushes, and a valuable collection of art and period furniture that will transport you to times gone by.
You will feel the freshness of the colonial era as you walk through the beautiful gardens and explore the rooms full of history. Then, you will move to Paradise Land, where an exciting journey to the world of wine awaits you. You will visit one of the oldest vineyards in Valle del Cauca, founded in 1960, and you will discover how theIsabella grape vines, adapted to the tropical climate, have given rise to a local winemaking tradition./b> You will walk through the Isabella grape plantations and learn about the cultivation process and production while you explore the largest barrel in Colombia and dress with a typical grape harvester`s suit.
You will experience a complete wine tasting, guided by a sommelier and brand ambassador, which will allow you to taste two glasses of the best wines in the region, accompanied by a special pairing. The experience is enriched with an interactive activity where you can fill your own bottle and enjoy a artisanal wine tasting. Afterwards, we will pause to enjoy a delicious lunch in the Tierra Paraíso restaurant, where you will enjoy the menu of the day accompanied by a refreshing drink.
Our day will culminate with a visit to Santa Elena, a small municipality in Valle del Cauca, where we will visit theMonument to Efraín and María, the protagonists of Isaacs` unforgettable novel.
After eight hours of time travel and wine immersion, we will return to Cali, concluding the activity with the drop off at your accommodation.
