The experience will begin at 8:00 a.m. at a meeting point located in the north of the city.There you will meet the guide and the group before starting the tour.
From Tivoli Park, you will travel by vehicle to the Las Flores neighborhood, a traditional area on the banks of the Magdalena River. Historically inhabited by fishermen and riverside communities. During the journey, the guide will give you an introduction to the importance of the Magdalena River, local life, and the route you are about to experience.
Upon arriving in Las Flores, you will board the tourist train that will take you to Puerto Mocho. The journey is made at a leisurely pace and allows you to observe mangroves, sandy areas, and the changing landscape where the river begins to merge with the sea. Passing through Bocas de Ceniza, you`ll discover the exact point where the Magdalena River flows into the Caribbean Sea, one of the most iconic landmarks in the region.
Once you reach the beaches of Puerto Mocho, you`ll find a natural, tranquil, and unspoiled environment. You`ll have free time to enjoy the sea, stroll along the shore, relax, or take photographs. During your visit, you`ll enjoy authentic local cuisine prepared by the area`s communities, a fundamental part of the experience and a way to support community-based tourism.
After your time at the beach, you`ll return on the tourist train to Las Flores, where transportation will be waiting to take you back to a central point in Barranquilla, such as the Caribbean Cultural Park or the Historic Center, bringing your experience to a comfortable and organized end.
