We will meet at your hotel in Bogotá at 2:00 pm and we will begin the trip through the north of the city towards Zipaquirá. Along the way, the driver will guide the route, while the city views transform into beautiful green landscapes, full of crops and grazing animals.
The first stop will be the impressive Salt Cathedral of Zipaquirá, an old salt mine converted into a dazzling underground architectural work. We will descend to 180 meters underground to admire the Seasons of the Cross, a representation of the last steps of Jesus, and we will reach the Great Central Dome, where the impressive underground salt cross is located largest in the world.
In addition to being a A symbol of faith for the miners who worked in the salt mines, the Zipaquirá Salt Cathedral is an exceptional example of engineering and architecture. You can tour its impressive hallways, chapels and sculptures carved in the salt, which represent the biblical passages and the religious history of Colombia.
When you leave the cathedral, you can explore the surrounding area obtaining beautiful views of the town of Zipaquirá.
Around 06:30 pm we will head towards Andrés Carne de Res in Chía, a vibrant and colorful restaurant that celebrates the rich culture and traditions of Colombia. There, you will have the opportunity to taste a variety of delicious Colombian dishes, enjoy live music , dancing and the lively festive atmosphere that characterizes this emblematic place.
The tour and consumption in the restaurant is free and on your own. The driver will be waiting for you outside the restaurant to return to the hotel at approximately 12pm.
