Here, surrounded by stunning gardens and panoramic views of mountains and the city, you will learn all thesecrets of high-quality organic coffee production in Colombia.
You will explore the coffee plantations and discover the factors key that make Colombian coffee one of the best in the world.
Walking among the plants you will learn why organic coffee cultivation implies sustainable agricultural practices and respectful of the environment. environment, without the use of synthetic chemicals, pesticides or fertilizers. You will learn about the preparation of the soil, the first planting of the seedlings in sand, until reaching the field; maintenance, pruning, weed removal and the prevention of diseases and pests through organic methods such as the introduction of beneficial insects and the use of traps.
Once the field trip is over, you will enjoy a delicious cup of coffee while you participate in an entertaining talk about the result of the responsible cultivation process, which is often appreciated for its distinctive flavor and its commitment to sustainability.
Then, we will head back to Medellín to visit Urbania Café, a roaster that is dedicated to enhancing and expanding coffee culture. There you will delve into the industrial coffee process; a specialized team will show you how the flavor and theunique characteristics of coffee are enhancedbefore reaching your cup. You will learn about the selection, roasting and packaging of coffee.
The experience will culminate with an excitingtasting of specialty coffees, including award-winning cups for their exceptional flavor profiles and differentiated notes which have received praise from professional tasters.
