The tour begins in the morning, 8 AM, with pick-up service from your hotel in Armenia or from accommodations located in central areas of Quindío (does not apply to mountain municipalities such as Córdoba, Pijao and Buenavista). From there you will begin the journey to one of the most representative places in the Coffee Region: PANACA –National Park of Agricultural Culture, a unique space in Colombia that celebratesrural life, sustainability and connection with nature.
Once in the park, with your Panaca Passport in hand, you will begin to travel 2.8 kilometers of farm and horseshoe type paths, surrounded by vegetation and fresh air. Along this trail you will enjoy 10 themed stations that will allow you to interact with domesticated animals and learn about traditional agricultural practices, while participating in educational activities based on the "Learning by Doing" methodology. Here you can milk cows, feed smaller species, get up close and personal with ostriches, horses, pigs, and more, all in a natural and safe environment. The park also offers unique educational experiences in its Living Classrooms, which are integrated into the tour: you will learn how to make seed paper, understand the food cycle, discover the process from worm to silk, the origin of natural pigments, and participate in workshops such as making taffy or mountain chocolate bar. In addition, you will find spaces dedicated to well-being, such as meditation with cats, designed to reconnect with your body and mind in the middle of the countryside.
During the day you will also have access to 5 live presentations, that combine tradition, humor and learning: “The Future Is in the Countryside”, “The Adventures of Flor Azucena and Campo Alirio”, the “Juan Chancho Montó-Ya” pig track, the dog show “Instinct, a Wow! Adventure!” and the fascinating show “The Wonderful World of Horses”, each designed to be enjoyed by the family.
Halfway through the day, you will have free time for lunch in one of the park`s restaurants, where you will find various options of typical food and dishes to suit your taste (lunch not included). This space will also be ideal for resting and sharing as a group before continuing with the afternoon activities.
After a day full of learning, contact with nature and fun, you will begin the return trip to your accommodation in Quindío, ending around 6 pm with an unforgettable experience that highlights the essence of the Colombian countryside.
