We begin our fascinating walk in the Bomberos sector, where a passionate local host will welcome us and guide us through the most authentic corners of Salento, showing us its essence before it became a tourist destination.
Following Sixth Street, we head towards the emblematic Main Square, where 191 years of history will unfold before us. Here, in the heart of Salento, we immerse ourselves in the context of the park`s symbols, from busts and plaques to the shapes that define this unique space.
We continue our walk along the royal street, exploring places that serve as refuges for the locals, away from the mass tourism. Along this route, we discuss typical games, myths, legends, and the various aspects that make up Salento`s rich architectural heritage.
When we reach the stairs leading to the Alto de la Cruz viewpoint, we stop at one of the oldest houses and architectural symbols of the town. We ascend the stairs while exploring the religious history of Salento, centered on devotion to the Virgin of Carmen, and discover the projects that gave rise to these iconic steps.
From Alto de la Cruz, we enjoy a spectacular panoramic view of Salento, with the imposing church in the distance, a place that has captivated millions with its beauty. We descend towards the "Ecoparque Mirador," where we contemplate the basin of the Cocora countryside, home to the national tree: the Wax Palm.
We begin our descent along Fourth Avenue and head to the Photographic Museum, where images captured by the town`s inhabitants reveal the evolution and transformation of Salento over time. This museum offers a unique perspective, allowing us to connect with history through photographs that tell the stories of the past.
We will conclude the tour by returning to the royal street, where you will have time to explore, buy souvenirs, take photos, or enjoy other attractions this charming town has to offer.
