It also has very special fauna, such as the Darwin`s Frog, the Culpeo Fox, and the Chilean Condor in the highest parts of Huerquehue.

It also has an amazing network of trails that have made it one of the favorite parks for nature and trekking lovers.

Among some of the countless trails we will find: Los Lagos, 8.8 km, and about 7 hours round trip. The Quinchol trail, 5 km, and about 4 hours round trip. Los Huerquenes, 20.7 km, and 2 days of trekking. Also the San Sebastián trail, 8 km, and about 10 hours of  round trip, or the Ñirrico trail, only 0.8 km long and approximately 1 hour round trip.

The Huerquehue National Park has an environment mostly located within the Andean-Patagonian Forest Region and the Araucanía Mountain Range.

The largest waterways found in the park are the Renahue Blanco River and the Quinchol River. In addition, there are more than 20 lagoons, most of which have an area of less than 7.5 hectares.
