We will pick you up from your hotel in Pucón early in the morning at the agreed time to depart 33 km east from Pucón. We will arrive at this impressive Huerquehue National Park with approximately 12,500 hectares.
This park is characterized by being a mountainous area with medium slopes and a stunningly unique beauty, where we will find ravines, hills, Araucaria and Lenga forests, among other wonders.
It also has very special fauna, such as the Darwin`s Frog, the Culpeo Fox, and the Chilean Condor in the highest parts of Huerquehue.
It also has an amazing network of trails that have made it one of the favorite parks for nature and trekking lovers.
Among some of the
countless trails we will find: Los Lagos,
8.8 km, and about 7 hours round trip. The Quinchol trail, 5 km, and about 4 hours round trip. Los Huerquenes, 20.7 km, and 2 days of trekking. Also the San Sebastián trail,
8 km, and about 10 hours of round trip, or the Ñirrico trail, only 0.8 km long and approximately 1 hour round trip.
The Huerquehue National Park has an environment mostly located within the Andean-Patagonian Forest Region and the Araucanía Mountain Range.
The largest waterways found in the park are the Renahue Blanco River and the Quinchol River. In addition, there are more than 20 lagoons, most of which have an area of less than 7.5 hectares. The most important are Lago Toro (27.5 hectares) and Verde (32.5 hectares), as well as Lago Chica, Los Patos, Huerquehue, Escondida, Seca, Clara, Angelina, Los Cóndores, , among others.
Almost all of these bodies of water belong to one of the most important basins in the region, El Río Toltén. The Araucaria is a common species in Huerquehue National Park, which has great ethnobotanical importance. This species is the so-called "Sacred Tree" of the Pehuenche People, who have historically used the Piñón (the seed of the Araucaria tree) as a food source.
Huerquehue National Park offers numerous viewpoints that will provide panoramic views of the region, including mountain peaks and forests that stretch as far as the eye can see. The views will take your breath away and will be the perfect backdrop for your photos.
No matter which trail we choose for our adventure, along the way we will discover hidden waterfalls and magical corners of nature that will amaze us. The beauty of these natural secrets will remind us of the wonder of life on earth.
At the end of this trekking experience in Huerquehue National Park, we will return to the starting point with a deeper sense and appreciation of Chilean nature.
