We leave early from the hotel in Belo Horizonte and continue to Tiradentes, a city founded around 1702, when the Paulistas discovered gold on the slopes of the Serra de São José. Originally known as Santo Antônio da Ponta do Morro, the city stands out for its imposing Matriz, whose Capela-Mor is adorned with gold and houses an organ of Portuguese origin. We will marvel at the perfectly preserved historic town of the city.
In the afternoon, we will head to the city of São João Del Rei, famous for being the birthplace of the influential Neves family and an important meeting point between Minas, São Paulo and Rio de Janeiro Here, we will explore the iconic Church of São Francisco de Assis, known for its primitive works. Aleijadinho, and we will walk through the historic center, where the Matriz, the Cathedral and the Basilica of Nossa Senhora do Pilar stand out, all of them adorned with impressive artistic works .
