Our activity is divided into two sections that you can choose to do together on the same day or separately. We recommend starting early in the morning to get the most out of the experience.
- First section - Visit to a Silletera farm in Santa Elena:
One of our private vehicles will stop by your hotel to pick you up and begin the adventure to Santa Elena. Our expert guide in the Silletera culture will accompany you throughout the tour, providing you with information and telling you great stories about the area and the tradition of flowers in Medellín.
We will arrive at Santa Elena, a charming town located in the nearby mountains to Medellin. There is a silletera farm, where the beautiful flowers used to make the silletas are grown. Upon arrival, you will be greeted by a traditional Silletero, who will welcome you and guide you through the estate.
´You will immerse yourself in the Silletera culture while learning about the history and customs that surround this ancient craft. You will discover some of the secrets of growing flowers and how they are selected and cared for to create spectacular silletas. The Silletero will share with you his experience and knowledge, and will show you the process of making silletas, from the selection of the flowers to their assembly.
You will have the opportunity to interact with the silleteros and ask them questions about their work and life. You will learn about the cultural importance of silletas and how they have been passed down from generation to generation. Plus, you`ll be able to see the finished saddles up close, with theirvibrant colors and unique designs.

After the visit to the Silletera farm, and only if you select the complete 8-hour circuit option, you will enjoy a delicious traditional lunch in a local restaurant, where you can try typical dishes from the region and savor authentic Antioquia cuisine.

- Second section - Tour of the historic center of Medellín:
We will continue the tour through the historic center of Medellín. The guide will accompany you to show you the most emblematic tourist sites of the city.
We will start at Plaza Botero, an iconic square that houses a collection of sculptures by renowned Colombian artist Fernando Botero. Here you can admire the sculptures of exaggerated proportions up close and appreciate the artist`s unique and distinctive style.
Next, we will walk towards Parque Berrío, a lively public spacesurrounded by colorful colonial buildings. This place is a popular meeting point for locals and visitors alike, and you can enjoy the vibrant atmosphere and observe the daily life of Medellín residents.
We will advance towards theMetroCable, an air transportation system that will take you to the commune of Santo Domingo. During the ascent in the cable car, you will enjoy spectacular panoramic views of the city and will have the opportunity to appreciate the impressive urban transformation that Medellín has experienced in recent years. decades.
Upon arrival in Santo Domingo, you will explore the commune and learn about its history and the resilience of its community. You will learn about the social development projects that have contributed to its transformation and you will understand how this area, once affected by violence, has become a symbol of improvement and positive change.
