Discover the Beauty of Alerce Andino National Park
from Puerto Varas
Our adventure begins from Puerto Varas, where we head toward the beginning of the Carretera
Austral to explore the impressive Alerce Andino National Park, located just 50 km from Puerto Montt. This park is famous for being home to some of the oldest trees in Chile and a unique biodiversity amidst dreamlike landscapes.
We start with a trek adapted to your physical condition,
with a maximum duration of 4 hours (12 km round trip). Along the way, we will enter dense forests populated
by diverse native tree and bird species, offering an immersive experience in the pristine nature of Chilean Patagonia.
One of the highlights of our route will be a visit to an impressive "Millennium-old Larch", located in the heart of the park, approximately 4.5 km from our starting point.
These monumental trees, some over 3,000 years old, are living witnesses to the country`s natural history and a sight you won`t want to miss.
If you`re looking for an even deeper experience, you can choose to continue to the picturesque Chaiquenes Lagoon, about 6 km away. This tranquil lagoon offers a serene environment and a perfect opportunity to enjoy a moment of peace surrounded by nature.
During our excursion, we will enjoy a simple but tasty snack, perfect for recharging our batteries while absorbing the beauty and tranquility of the surroundings.
At the end of our adventure, we will return to Puerto Varas with the satisfaction of having explored one of Chile`s most iconic national parks, taking with us unforgettable memories and a deeper connection with Patagonian nature. We look forward to seeing you there.
