Our activity begins in the morning with the pick up at your hotel located in the central area of Esquel, we will leave for the town of Gualjaina, located just 85 km to the East .
After an hour of travel by van, Accompanied by an expert guide and in the middle of the Chubut River valley, we will find La Piedra Parada, its 210 meters high will leave us dazzled.
We will get out of the vehicle to start exploring the entire area, the guide will take us into the historical context and geological transformation of the place , which millions of years ago was the caldera of a volcano, whose chimney solidified and gave rise to very peculiar geoforms; today corresponds to the Piedra Parada Protected Natural Area due to its great heritage, cultural and natural value.
We will enjoy the unparalleled landscape of the Patagonian steppe , where we will have the possibility of sighting caracas, caracas and harriers.
We will advance in our exploration towards Cañadón de la Buitrera, which is located a few kilometers from the stone, crossing the Chubut river. We will dive into the interior of the canyon which is 3 km long and is flanked by walls 150 meters high, which gradually decrease as you move towards the interior.
We will find an eaves , where there was an aboriginal occupation more than 5000 years ago and that today houses cave paintings making it a site of paleontological and archaeological interest.
We will have time to explore the canyon until sunset, appreciate the silence of the place, enjoy the magnificent colors of the volcanic rock and its nooks and crannies that are home to birds, reptiles and rodents such as the chinchillón.
After the tour, we will return to the vehicle by the same trail. The services will end with the drop off at your hotel around 7:00 p.m.
