Our day begins with the excitement of leaving San Gil towards the majestic Chicamocha National park. Aboard our comfortable transportation, we will head towards this natural wonder that awaits us with its doors open for a day full of adventures and discoveries.
When we arrive at the park, we find ourselves in front of one of the Colombia`s most impressive geological wonders: the Chicamocha Canyon. This impressive canyon, carved by the Chicamocha River over millions of years, has an extension of 227 kilometers and reaches depths of up to 2,000 meters, making it one of the largest in the world. In addition to its imposing natural beauty, the canyon has significant historical and cultural importance, as it has been inhabited by various indigenous civilizations throughout of the centuries.
Our first stop will be the cable car , which will gently lift us above the abyss, giving usspectacular panoramic views as we ascend the heights of Chicamocha.
Once at the top, we will enter the heart of the park, where nature and history merge in a unique landscape. With the expert guidance of our tourism professionals, we will travel the trails that wind through the cliffs, marveling at the privileged view and learning about the geological importance and culture of the region.
After the morning exploration , we will stop to enjoy a delicious lunch in one of the park`s restaurants.
