The tour begins with the pick-up from the hotels located in downtown Posadas starting at 7:00 am. We head about 110 km to the west and along the route we will cross to the province of Corrientes, where we will pass through the fields where yerba mate is produced.
At 9 am we will arrive at Portal Galarza, located within the Esteros del Iberá National Park and Nature Reserve. A local guide will welcome us with mate, tea and traditional bakeries to give us a general explanation about the characteristics of the Iberá Wetlands and the importance of their conservation and care.
Next, we will embark on an exclusive two-hour boat ride through the estuaries and lagoons, where we can observe flora and fauna, and the characteristic landscapes od the wetland, the largest in Argentina. During the walk, we will be able to see animals such as alligators and capybaras and a great variety of bird species.
At noon, we will return to the post to enjoy a complete lunch and we will have free time to rest and explore the surroundings.
In the afternoon, we will take a walk of between 30 minutes and 1 hour, through the trails that run through the native forest and the footbridges of the estuary. Our guide will talk about the uses and customs of the native flora and fauna. Here we can also see a large number of animals (howler monkeys, rheas, foxes, corsuelas, swamp deer, capybaras).
Finally, around 04:00 pm we will return to the city of Posadas where we will be dropped off at our hotel at approximately 6:00 pm.
