DAY 1
We will start
very early in the morning from your hotel located in the city of Cusco to go
towards the picturesque Andean town of Paucartambo, situated 68 miles from the city with an altitude
of 2906 meters above sea level.
The Manu National Reserve is located
between the regions of Cusco and Madre de Dios, and it was created as a
protected area in 1963. The jungle of Manu is divided in three relevant areas,
such as the cultural zone, the
reserved zone and the restricted use zone. The latter case is the most
protected zone and it is used for investigations and biological researches.
We will continue
the route going down towards the Cloud Forest, with a previous stop
for lunch. Here you will start to feel a warmer weather and
surrounded by vegetation.
After admire
beautiful landscapes, we will arrive at the lodge located at the cultural zone
of Manu at 1700 meters above sea level. In this place we are going to have a
deserved rest and a delicious dinner included.

DAY 2
Very early in the
morning we are going to search the famous Andean Cock of the rock, considered
as the Peruvian national bird. After this amazing experience we are
going to get back to the lodge for breakfast and then, we will continue the
journey to the town of Pilcopata.
At this point,
you have one totally free option to do. You can practice rafting on the rivers Koñeq or Alto Madre de Dios, spending one
hour and a half of full adrenaline with class I and II levels.
Then, we will
continue to the port of Atalaya located at 700 meters above sea level to take
the boat and going down the river until reach the next lodge. Admire unique and
beautiful flora and fauna along the
way, including many species of birds such as herons and vultures.
We can make a
nice walk around the lodge to admire the beauty of the Peruvian jungle. During the night, we can take a walk to look for wild nightlife like insects and
amphibians.
The rustic lodge
has a trail network around of 15 kilometers that you can explore with a
professional guide. This day includes all the meals.
DAY 3
This last day in Manu begins with an excursion by
boat to the Collpa, a wall located on the river where a great
variety of bird species come down every morning to extract the clay as part of
their food.
The Biosphere Reserve of Manu has an impressive fauna with the most
biodiversity in the world. You will have the chance to observe wildlife in their
natural habitat and also endangered animals such as the giant otter, black caiman,

This amazing national reserve
has different types of ecosystems, covering
mountainous areas with high elevations of 4000 meters above sea level and
taking a part of the Amazon basin lowness.
We will return to the lodge to
take the boat back to the port of Atalaya. Upon arrival, our
transportation will take us towards the city of Cusco. This day includes breakfast at the lodge and a
lunch on the way to Cusco.
