Early in the morning , we will pick you up from your hotel in Cusco in private transportation and head to the Poroy train station, located 20 minutes from the city. We will board the selected train for a journey of just over 3 hours to the Aguas Calientes train station. From there, you will take a bus up to the entrance of the magnificent Machu Picchu Citadel .
Machu Picchu , meaning "Old Mountain," is located 130 km northwest of the city of Cusco , in the Central Andes of Peru, surrounded by the Vilcanota River. It was built by the Inca Pachacuti between 1400 and 1500 AD, serving as an exclusive retreat for the Inca aristocracy. Machu Picchu sits at an altitude of 2,430 meters above sea level, and its subtropical location gives it microclimates that vary seasonally.
For two hours, you`ll have the opportunity to explore this spectacular archaeological site, also known as the Lost City of the Incas , on a guided tour. Boasting a unique wealth of flora and fauna, this place is surrounded by diverse orchid species and forests. Insects, mammals, and birds also inhabit the area, including Peru`s national bird, the Andean cock-of-the-rock.
You will have free time in Machu Picchu to take photos, or if you wish, you can climb Huayna Picchu mountain (optional) and admire the citadel in all its splendor. Huayna Picchu means "young mountain," and it stands at 2,700 meters above sea level. The climb is challenging as it is quite steep and narrow, however, it will reward you with the best views and will be an unforgettable experience .
Throughout your tour of the Inca city , you`ll walk along mysterious stone streets, visit temples, admire beautiful terraces, and feel the special energy of the place. You can also take the bus back down to Machu Picchu town for lunch (optional).

At the agreed-upon time, you must be at the Aguas Calientes train station to board the train back to Cusco. During the train journey, you will admire snow-capped peaks and colorful vegetation, and you will also pass through the beautiful Sacred Valley of the Incas and the town of Ollantaytambo .
Upon arrival at the Poroy train station, we will transfer you by private transport to your hotel located in the city center of Cusco.
