ITINERARY

DAY 1

This fantastic journey begins with the pick up at the airport of Iquitos, and then enjoy our first lunch in a 5-star hotel in the city. Later, we will take the private transport to the city of Nauta, in order to board the Zafiro Cruise.

While you admire the beauty of the jungle, you will taste a Peruvian welcome drink. The guides will explain us about the tri, and enjoy the welcome dinner on board.

 

DAY 2

** HIGH WATER SEASON - FROM DECEMBER TO MAY **

AM: Very early, we will start an excursion by boat to the area of Yanallpa del Ucayali, where we can see various native species. After breakfast, we are going out again, to explore the Tapiche River, and continue looking for wild life. Upon returning to the ship, we will have a cooking demonstration by the chef.

PM: After lunch, the next tour starts going towards the Rio Dorado to fish. Then, we will do a night tour in search of nocturnal animals such as frogs and tarantulas before returning to the cruise. Then, we will have dinner on board.

 

** LOW WATER SEASON - FROM JUNE TO NOVEMBER **

AM: After enjoying breakfast, we will hike in Yucuruchi, with the chance to see several indigenous species. Upon returning to the ship, we will have a cooking demonstration by the chef.

PM: After lunch, you will have the opportunity to practice kayak, swim in the river or go out to Lake Bagazán by boat. Enjoy a fantastic dinner listening live music on board. We will have a last visit to search for nocturnal animals like alligators and lizards.

 

DAY 3

** HIGH WATER SEASON - FROM DECEMBER TO MAY **

AM: We will have breakfast, and begin the tour to the Yarapa River by boat, to watch pink and gray dolphins. Back on board, we are going to see the union of the Ucayali and Marañón rivers, where the Amazon River originates.

PM: After lunch, we will explore the Huasi community. Spend an amazing time meeting the local people, as well as their traditional customs. You can enjoy a bath in the Tahuayo river, and appreciate the colorful sunset that the Peruvian Amazon gives to us. Later on board, we will relax listening to live music, and meet the crew before the farewell dinner.

 

** LOW WATER SEASON - FROM JUNE TO NOVEMBER **

AM: After breakfast, we will go to the Yarapa River, to spot pink and gray dolphins. We will have breakfast on board, and we will have another excursion to the Vista Alegre community to meet its people, their ancestral customs, and its butterfly farm.

PM: By the afternoon, after lunch, we will take a boat ride to the Amazon River to enjoy the wonderful sunset. Back on the cruise, we`ll relax listening to live music, and we will meet the crew before the farewell dinner.

 

DAY 4

After the last breakfast on board, we will disembark and, on the way to Iquitos, make a short visit to the Amazon Rescue Center (CREA), a place that houses rescued animals like manatees. At the end, we will arrive at the airport of Iquitos.
