an unforgettable adventure on the Chiloé Island

Caulin and the Pingüineras de Puñihuil".
From the moment
We left the hotel in Puerto Montt or Puerto Varas, we headed towards the
picturesque Town of Pargua, where
We boarded a ferry to cross the Canal
Chacao towards the mythical Isla Grande de
Chiloé. During the 45-minute journey, you will have the opportunity to spot sea lions frolicking in the waters,
pelicans flying over and a varied marine birdlife, introducing you
filled with the natural beauty of the region.
Once in Chacao, we explore this charming town
characterized by its larch wood constructions and the iconic San Antonio de Chacao Church,
declared National Monument. We continue
our tour along the coastal route to
Caulin, famous for its intertidal wetland
which houses a rich biodiversity of birds such as Swans
of Cuello Negro, Herons and Flamingos, especially notable during the
winter. This unique landscape invites you to connect with nature while
you enjoy the serenity of the surroundings.
We arrived at Puñihuil Beach around noon, where
An exceptional experience awaits us, a boat ride to the islets that house the Puñihuil Penguin Areas.
During the 40 minutes of navigation (ticket not included), you will be able to marvel
with the presence of the Magellanic penguin and
Humboldt, protected species that find refuge in this Monument
National for its ecological importance.
Finally, we will go
to Ancud, we will explore the Local Museum to immerse ourselves in the history and
culture of the island, we will visit the traditional Market
Municipal and we will get to know the imposing
Fuerte de San Antonio, an 18th century Spanish fortification that
offers stunning panoramic views of the city and the sea.
We conclude this
fascinating day around 7:00 p.m., returning to the hotel with
unforgettable memories of Chiloé and the certainty of having lived an experience
