We will begin our journey at sunset, heading inland into the Elqui Valley. We will make a brief stop in the town of Vicuña, where the municipal offices are located to formalize our entry to the Mamalluca Amateur Observatory.
We will continue our way to the Observatory through the northeast of the city, crossing the town of San Isidro. Here we will enjoy a pleasant nighttime journey where we can gaze at the stars in this very special place, open to the public, but intimate enough since it is subject to prior reservation.
Here we will have a talk about the Universe and the Stars of the Southern Hemisphere, along with an image projection to better understand what we are about to experience. Then the moment we`ve been waiting for will arrive: a nighttime observation of stars, planets, and galaxies.
It will be a very special experience, since the Southern Hemisphere is particularly astronomically interesting, and most of the impressive observatories located in this area do not have public visits at night, making it a unique place in the area.
After enjoying two hours of observing the Universe, we will say goodbye to the facilities and begin the return to our hotels in La Serena or Coquimbo.
