Today we will begin our day early in the morning. Departing at approximately 6:00 a.m. from our hotel in La Serena to begin this adventure, we will head north into the Coquimbo region, until we reach the picturesque town of Punta de Choros, which will be our starting point for this marine adventure.

 

At approximately 9:00 a.m., we will embark on This exciting journey to Chorus Island. We will begin sailing until we reach the home of the largest concentration of Humboldt penguins in the National Reserve. We will also observe up close cormorants, pelicans, boobies, sea lions, chungungos, and sea otters. We promise this is a unique experience for lovers of marine and natural wildlife.

 

At approximately 11:30 a.m., nature will surprise us with possible sightings of bottlenose dolphins, a species unique to the South Pacific. Additionally, from approximately November to mid-May, we might also be fortunate enough to spot whales, further enriching our marine experience.

 

At approximately 1:00 p.m., we head to Damas Island, skirting it from the boat to admire its beauty from the sea. On permitted days, we might disembark to explore its trails, relax on the sand, and capture unforgettable moments with our cameras. Swimming is not permitted.

 

Back on land at approximately 3:30 p.m., we will enjoy a delicious lunch at a typical local restaurant. The local cuisine provides authentic flavors to complement our day. Finally, we will visit an olive oil production plant to learn more about the process.

 

With hearts full of wonder and vivid memories, we conclude our day at Punta de Choros. Every moment shared with the wildlife and nature will become part of our unforgettable expedition. We will begin our return to La Serena at approximately 5:30 PM.
