Details of Day Tours

The Full Day excursion to Río Simpson and Puerto Aysén is a unique experience that you cannot miss. During this full-day adventure, you will enjoy the natural and cultural beauty of the Aysén region.

The tour begins departing from Coyhaique heading west on one of the most emblematic roads of the Carretera Austral towards Puerto Aysén. 

After traveling the first 30 km, we will stop to visit the Río Simpson National Reserve, which has an area of more than 41 thousand hectares. We will start at its visitor center where the first thing we will be able to appreciate is an initial brushstroke of the flora and fauna of the area.

We will continue with a short walk to the banks of the Simpson River to enjoy its incomparable surroundings and be dazzled by its beauty, and in the background a Hill called “Queque Inglés”

After the walk, we will continue this experience to Puerto Aysén, on the way we will stop at “La Cascada de la Virgen”, an emblematic place to take photographs, not to be missed!...

Puerto Aysén, is a picturesque coastal city, located at the mouth of the river, it is the second most populated in this southern region, with about 27 thousand inhabitants. We will take a panoramic tour of the city together so you can learn about all the culture and every story that this place hides, such as that of the Italian missionary priest Antonio Ronchi who fought tirelessly to improve the quality of life of those who needed it most.

We will make another stop on the waterfront, (weather permitting), to be dazzled by a panoramic view of the imposing Hanging Bridge, over the Aysén River, which characterizes the city. Here we can also enjoy a delicious lunch with local products while admiring the port and its fishing boats.

Then, we will visit the artisan market of Puerto Aysén, where you can take home some beautiful handicrafts made by the locals. 
Before finishing, during the return to Coyhaique we will stop at the Mirador Marchant to enjoy splendid views of the regional capital.
