Vila Paraíso Tour and Rubber Museum – History of the Amazon from Manaus
Discover the history of the Amazon rubber boom with this tour from Manaus to Vila Paraíso , a historical site that recreates life during Brazil`s golden age of rubber extraction. This location was also used as a filming location for the movie Jungle .
The tour begins with departure from Manaus towards Vila Paraíso, located on the banks of the Amazon River. Upon arrival, we will begin our visit with the impressive Casa del Maestro del Caucho (Rubber Master`s House ), an elegant residence that reflects the wealth and economic power of the major producers during the Amazon`s rubber boom.
During the tour we will also visit other historical buildings of the complex, such as the large warehouse where the tools used in rubber production were kept, the small chapel and the flour depot that supplied the community.
Next, we will walk along a short trail through the jungle to observe the rubber trees and learn about the traditional process of latex extraction, an activity that profoundly marked the economic history of the Amazon region.
The tour continues with a visit to the simple houses where the plantation workers lived, allowing for a better understanding of the living conditions and customs during the rubber extraction era in the Amazon.
Before returning to Manaus, we will make a stop at Tupé Beach , one of the most beautiful river beaches in the region, where visitors can relax and swim in the refreshing waters of the Amazon River.
At the end of the experience, we will return to the passengers` hotels in Manaus.
