Day 1: Villa Unión - Pozuelos - Jagüe
At noon from the hotels in
Villa Unión, we will leave for
Vinchina passing through
Villa Castelli. We will continue the route along the
Dakar Routes, where
sandy rivers and steep walls of the Quebrada de Pozuelos emerge and in the afternoon arrive at the old town of Jagüe in the Pre-Cordillera. At night we will stay at
Jagüe with a delicious dinner included. div>
Day 2: Expedition to Laguna Brava and Crater Corona del Inca
until we reach the pass of the lagoon at 4,370 meters above sea level, here we will stop to observe the enchanting
Laguna Brava in the wide Andean highlands and the impressive
snow-capped volcanic peaks.
Then, we will go around the lagoon to the north towards Pampa de Veladero, crossing the sandbanks of volcanic ash, the Farallones del Campo de Piedra Pómez Riojano, and the Lava Rock Canyon, always surrounded by the immensity of important volcanoes such as Bonete, Veladero, and Reclus. At noon we will approach the magnificent crater of the Corona del Inca Volcano at 5,500 meters above sea level
Inside the crater we will admire a deep blue lagoon and large glaciers on its crests. The landscape dazzles us with its scenic beauty at the foot of Monte Pissis. After noon, we return through Laguna Brava where we will take a picnic break and go down again through the Quebrada del Peñón to Jagüe towards our selected accommodation with dinner included.
Day 3: Quebrada de la Troya and Vinchina
After picking you up at your accommodation in Jagüe, we head towards the impressive Quebrada de la Troya, a zigzagging road Surrounded by striking geoforms that are the product of erosion millions of years ago. You can see footprints of prehistoric animals imprinted on the rocks.
We will visit the mysterious Diaguitas Stars that represent the native peoples of the province; a combination of circular stone formations with white, reddish, and blue colors in the town of Vinchina. Then, we will return to your accommodation in Villa Unión at midday.
