Details of Day Tours

Discover some of the most breathtaking landscapes of Northwest Argentina on this full-day excursion that combines nature, history, archaeology, and wine culture into a unique and unforgettable experience.

The Beginning of the Adventure: Jungle and Historical Monuments

The day begins with pick-up from selected hotels in San Miguel de Tucumán to start the journey along Provincial Route 307. Leaving the city behind, we will enter the spectacular Los Sosa River Gorge , where we will make a brief stop at the emblematic "El Indio" monument, one of the great symbols of the region.

Continuing the ascent, we will arrive at the town of El Mollar to visit the mysterious Menhirs , ancient carved stone monuments that bear witness to the passage and legacy of the original cultures through these valleys.

Between Picturesque Valleys and Panoramic Heights

Shortly after, we`ll visit the charming and picturesque town of Tafí del Valle , one of the most beautiful destinations in northern Argentina, surrounded by imposing mountains and verdant landscapes. From there, we`ll begin the ascent to Abra del Infiernillo , the highest point on the route, located at 3,042 meters above sea level . During this journey, the panoramic views of the majestic Calchaquí Valleys are simply unforgettable.

Upon descending, the next stop will be in Amaicha del Valle , where we will visit its main square and discover part of the daily life of this traditional valley community, famous for its climate and cultural roots.

Ancestral Footprints on Route 40

Later, we`ll join the legendary National Route 40 to head towards the iconic Sacred City of Quilmes , the most important indigenous settlement in the country. At this unique archaeological site, we`ll take a guided walk through the ancient residential and defensive structures, reliving the fascinating history of resistance by the native peoples against the Spanish advance.

Cafayate: Land of Sun and High Altitude Wines

Passing through Colalao del Valle, we will finally arrive in Cafayate , a city internationally renowned for its vineyards, mountain landscapes, and high-altitude wines. In this Calchaquí oasis, we will have free time for lunch and to visit a local winery , where we will learn the secrets of the region`s winemaking tradition before beginning our comfortable return to San Miguel de Tucumán.
