The day begins with a pickup in the city of Salta and a transfer to the province of Jujuy, passing through the stunning landscapes of northern Argentina that offer a glimpse of the beauty of the Quebrada de Humahuaca. Once in Volcán, you will board the Solar Train to begin the 360° Experience, one of the most innovative and comfortable ways to discover the region.
This activity is organized into two groups: Group A and Group B. Both groups follow the exact same route, visiting all stations and with the same total program duration. The only difference between them is the operating schedule and the order in which the locations are visited.
🚂 Group A Route
Group A of the Solar Train of the Quebrada makes a complete tour through the Quebrada de Humahuaca following an organized itinerary that allows you to enjoy each destination progressively.
The tour begins in Volcán, the train`s departure point, from where the journey into the heart of the gorge begins. The first stop is Purmamarca, one of the region`s most iconic destinations, famous for the Hill of Seven Colors and its traditional artisan market.
Then, the tour continues towards Maimará, known for its impressive mountain formations such as the Painter`s Palette, before continuing on to Tilcara, one of the main cultural and historical centers of the Quebrada, ideal for exploring its streets, markets and archaeological sites.
On the return leg, the train passes through Posta de Hornillos, a historical site of great regional importance, and later through Tumbaya, a small Andean town that preserves intact the traditional essence of northern Argentina.
Finally, the circuit concludes again in Volcán, completing a comprehensive experience through the most representative landscapes of the Quebrada de Humahuaca.
🚂 Group B Route
Group B of the Quebrada Solar Train offers the same complete experience, but with a different tour order, allowing for a more balanced distribution of visitors at each station.
The departure is also from Volcán, from where the train heads first towards Tumbaya, a charming town surrounded by mountains and ancestral traditions that invites you to begin the journey by connecting with the local culture.
Then, the journey continues to Purmamarca, one of the most iconic destinations in the valley, known worldwide for its colorful landscapes and cultural identity.
The route continues towards Posta de Hornillos, a key historical site within the region, before arriving at Maimará, where the impressive multicolored hills and the characteristic landscapes of the ravine stand out.
Later, the train arrives in Tilcara, one of the most vibrant points of the circuit thanks to its archaeological, gastronomic and cultural richness.
In the final stretch, the train begins its return journey, passing through the stations again until it reaches Volcán, where this unforgettable experience in northern Argentina comes to an end.
