Details of Travel Packages

Planned Itinerary:

Day 1: Arrival at El Calafate:

Arrival to El Calafate, a picturesque town on the shores of Lago Argentino, the largest lake in Patagonia, and gateway to Los Glaciares National Park. Night in El Calafate.

Day 2: Visit to the Perito Moreno Glacier:

After breakfast, enjoy an excursion to the Perito Moreno Glacier in Los Glaciares National Park. After breakfast, you will travel the 50 miles (80 kilometers) from El Calafate to the Glacier, which is located in the southwest corner of Lago Argentino. The most famous feature of the National Park, declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO, is the Perito Moreno Glacier, 19 miles long, 3 miles wide and 197 feet high. With your guide, you will walk along the 1,300-foot (400-meter) trail that takes you to a viewpoint near the glacier. You will spend about two hours here; when you reach the viewpoint (about an hour`s walk), the guide will give you free time to take pictures and admire the impressive view of the glacier and the lake. The Perito Moreno is a growing glacier, crawling forward a bit every day. If you are lucky, you will be able to witness the natural phenomenon of the ice breaking off the walls of the glacier and crashing into the water. You can bring your own food to eat during the trip, or eat at the restaurant inside the National Park. Night in Calafate.

Day 3: Patagonia at your feet - Free day:

This day will be free for you to decide which activity you want to do or if you simply want to use your time to rest at your hotel.

There are many options to choose from in this city, such as sailing among the glaciers or visiting a Patagonian estancia to learn about the practices and work done in this end of the world. Suggested optionals: Sailing Rivers of Ice or Visit to Estancia Cristina, Classic Tour. Night in Calafate.

Day 4: Flight from El Calafate to Ushuaia:

Have breakfast at your hotel and be picked up to go to the airport in El Calafate and take your domestic flight to Ushuaia. After arrival, you will be received and taken to your hotel where you will have the rest of the day free to visit the small city of Ushuaia, known as the southernmost city in the world and the capital of the Province of Tierra del Fuego. Night in Ushuaia.

Day 5: Tierra del Fuego National Park and "End of the World" Train:

After breakfast at your hotel, you will leave for the National Park which is located 11 kilometers from Ushuaia. You will be able to see lakes, lagoons and rivers without their limits, and your departure to the Beagle Channel. Departing from Maipú Avenue, we will head southwest along National Route 3 and pass by the slope of Mount Susana, witness to the work of the prisoners of the old prison, where the Fuegian Train is now located. Here we will stop for an optional tour. Continuing through the valley to the detour that takes us to Ensenada Bay, we will see the Redonda and Estorbo Islands and the other coast of the Beagle Channel, as well as the white mountains of the Sampaio chain (Chile). Back on National Route 3 with the Fuegian forest with its flora close to the road, we will go to Roca Lake for a walk along the lake`s shore and the Lapataia River, which originates from the lake. From this point you can see the natural border of Cerro Condor with Chile. We will go towards the end of the Park, where National Route 3 ends at Lapataia Bay, where we will see the Green and Black Lagoons, an impressive peat bog in formation. Finally we will pass by the beaver dams, whose path will lead us to Lapataia Bay. Night in Ushuaia.

Day 6: Free day in Ushuaia:

After breakfast you will have the day free to decide which activity you want to do or if you simply want to use your time to rest in your hotel- we suggest that you take the tour to the Fagnano and Escondido Lakes in a 4x4. Night in Ushuaia.

Day 7: Back to your initial destination:

Have breakfast at your hotel and be picked up to go to the airport in Ushuaia and take your domestic flight back to your origin.
