Our starting point is a farm that we decided as meeting point. From there begins the exciting hike of approximately 9 hours.
The initial trail is wide and of medium-low difficulty, which makes it accessible to most trekking enthusiasts. As we advance, we head towards the confluence of the Encanto Blanco and Azul rivers, known as "La Confluencia", an access that will reveal the majesty of nature in its splendor.
On the way, we will cross the Viewpoint Loma de los Piches, a privileged point which our expert guide will allow us to appreciate views of the Valle del Azul. Continuing our journey, we will arrive at the first refuge, known as "La Playita", located on the shores of Río Azul. This haven will give us a well-deserved rest.
Continuing our journey, we will reach La Tronconada Refuge, located in a beautiful coihue forest at the foot of the slopes of Cerro Dedo Gordo. Moving on for an additional 20 minutes, we will arrive at Refugio del Cajón del Azul. There we will be witnesses of the main attraction of this adventure: the Río Azul canyon. From a log bridge, at a depth of 35 meters, we will observe how the river flows between rock walls that, at times, are less than a meter apart.
Walking in company of a specialized mountain guide gives tranquility while we enjoy this experience.
After approximately 9 hours, we will arrive back to our starting point of the trekking.
