Tour Highlights

Enjoy this pack that includes a lunch in the traditional Bar Facal and the guided visit to the Salvo Palace. Visit at your own pace two emblematic places of the city of Montevideo.

Facal is much more than a bar. The fountain of the locks, the statue of Carlos Gardel and the tango show at noon makes it a reference in downtown Montevideo. Enjoy a delicious traditional Uruguayan lunch.

Palacio Salvo is a building that marks an era. Its architecture, history and its resemblance to the Barolo Palace in Buenos Aires make the building an obligatory place to photograph and visit.

With this combo, you will be able to go directly to the places avoiding queues and delays.

Details of this Activity

At noon, present yourself with your voucher directly at the Bar Facal, where you will be welcome and placed at one of the tables to enjoy your lunch.

Located in an emblematic corner of Montevideo, with historical monuments and entertaining shows, Facal offers its clients a true gastronomic and cultural experience.
In addition to its varied offer of traditional dishes and original recipes, at the entrance of the building, you can enjoy a street tango show (from Monday to Saturday), and the fountain of the locks and statue of Carlos Gardel, famous throughout the city.
Lunch includes the traditional Chivito al pan (meat sandwich), dulce de leche ice cream and 1 drink (beer, soda, water or a glass of wine).

Once you enjoyed the place, you can continue with the second part of the experience. Palacio Salvo is 900 meters (8 blocks) from the bar, but this will allow you to walk along Av. 18 de Julio, Montevideo's main street where some of the city's most historic buildings are located.
Walk along the avenue to the west, until you reach Independencia Square.

Once in the Palace, you can take one of the guided tours, which are offered every half hour (until 4 p.m.).
The building was inaugurated in 1928 after six years of construction and was based on its previous creation in Buenos Aires, the Barolo Palace. Its predominant style is Italian Gothic with classical and neo-Romanticism influences.
In the guided visit to the Salvo Palace, go around the surroundings of the building, the exterior passages and the Salvo Passage, observing and informing about its so special bronze decorations that conform a true bestiary of marine animals around the whole building.
The main interior attractions are also visited, including the old party halls, the double marble staircases, the large stained glass window and the very particular mezzanine.
Then you go out to the great terrace of the 11th floor with a view of the whole city, to finish the tour in the viewpoint of the 24th floor.
During the visit some of the stories and legends that were born from the building and that have to do with many of the places visited are recreated.
