Details of Day Tours

First, we will pick you up at your centrally located hotel in Montevideo. There, your Professional Guide will be available to tell you about the trip, the visit to the city of Colonia, anecdotes, and all the history of these beautiful places we will visit.

We will head towards Colonia del Sacramento, making a first stop in Colonia Suiza and Nueva Helvecia, the home of cheese, where we will also find the  important Hotel Nirvana with its colonial style, the Plaza de los Fundadores, and the Shrine of Our Lady of Schoenstatt. (If booked on Monday, Wednesday, Friday or Sunday)

Afterwards, we will continue our way to Colonia and we can start to visit other iconic places, such as the Street of Sighs, the Church of the Blessed Sacrament, St. Peter`s Bastion, the Powder Magazine, the Lighthouse, and the Spanish and Portuguese Museums and the Tile Museum (admission not included). During the tour, we will be able to observe and photograph its impressive cobblestone streets and houses made of stone with facades and structures of colonial architecture.

Later, we will be able to walk along the Rambla Costanera and appreciate the natural surroundings of the Rio de la Plata. Following that, we will pass through the Real de San Carlos area where we will find the old Chapel of San Benito that has been preserved for many years.

Then, we will see the Polytechnic University of Valencia and the Mihanovich Complex from the end of the 20th century that includes the Bullring, the Fronton, the Power Plant and the Pier. There we will spend more time discovering the culture and history of this small town that was influenced by Spanish and Portuguese culture and was declared a World Heritage Site by UNESCO.

At the end of the tour, we will return to your hotel in Montevideo.
