Details of Day Tours

At the beginning of the experience, you will start by taking an interesting tour of the Garzón Winery, learning about its history, grape care, applied technology, and the winemaking processes with the Expert Sommelier Guide.

The Garzón Winery is located in the mountains and natural terraces, and has a great reputation for its Uruguayan Fine Wines of the highest quality, and facilities that optimize energy use, simultaneously producing wind and photovoltaic energy.

What are you going to see? 3 fermentation sectors plus one of aging, stainless steel containers, oak barrels, and epoxy-free concrete vats. In this way, it is possible to achieve the unique flavor of their wines.

Along the tour, you will enjoy a tasting of two wines from the Reserva line, selected to introduce you to the quality and personality of their labels.

Then, the adventure continues with a cart ride through the vineyard, which allows you to explore the landscapes and understand how Garzón`s terroir influences its wines. (This tour is subject to favorable weather conditions.)

The visit culminates in the tasting room with an unforgettable sensory experience: a tasting of 3 Single Vineyard wines, accompanied by a gourmet board with cheeses, country bread, nuts, and olives, designed to enhance every nuance of the wines. In addition, a tasting of 3 extra virgin olive oils from the premium Colinas de Garzón line, produced in the same region, is included.

The best time of year to visit Bodega Garzón is during spring and summer, between September and March, when the weather is warmer and more pleasant. During this period, you can enjoy the beautiful landscape of vineyards in full bloom and participate in outdoor activities. However, the winery offers interesting activities year-round, ideal for wine lovers.

If you prefer public transportation, you can take a bus to Maldonado and then a taxi or private transfer to the winery, although this may take longer. It is advisable to plan your trip in advance.
For the Garzón Winery tour, we recommend wearing comfortable, casual clothing appropriate for a wine tourism experience. Wear comfortable walking shoes, as the tour includes outdoor areas in the vineyards. On sunny days, don`t forget to bring sunscreen, a hat, and sunglasses. During the winter, a light jacket will be useful to protect you from the wind. If you plan to enjoy lunch or dinner at the winery`s restaurant, you may want to dress more formally to complement the gourmet atmosphere of the experience.
